Chinese Mintal Group intends to build new stainless steel plant in Vietnam-The 21st China(Guangzhou)Int'l Stainless Steel Industry Exhibition

According to reports, Chinese Mintal Group announced to build ferrochrome and stainless steel plants in Thanh Hoa province, Vietnam. It was expected that Mintal Group needed to import raw materials to meet its needs.
The preliminary expectation of the plan was to create a ferrochrome smelter, whose annual capacity reached 1.5 million tons. After that, stage two was to build a stainless steel plant in the same area with an annual capacity of 1 million tons. Both factories would be located in the Nghi Son Economic Zone.
In addition, Mintal Group said that 80% of its steel mills were originally imported, most of which were from South Africa. Mintal Group was still very likely to rely on imported raw materials for production.
