China’s rebar production grew for a third straight week over the March 21-27 period, according to Mysteel’s survey of 137 domestic long steelmakers it regularly monitors, with their total output up by another 2.5% or 84,100 tonnes week on week at 3.39 million tonnes, according to Mysteel’s weekly production study.
Both the operational rate and utilization rate for making rebar at these mills posted mild increases, higher by 1 percentage point over the week at 71.2% and 1.9 percentage points higher week on week at 74.3% respectively during the surveyed week, according to the study.
