Japanese stainless steel exports down in Jan m-o-m

According to the statistics from the Iron and Steel Institute of Japan (ISIJ), the export volume of Japanese stainless steel totaled around 67,000 tons in January, which decreased by 11.1% compared to the previous month.
Among them, the volume had a month-on-month decrease of 39% in China, 42.7% in Taiwan, 0.7% in the US, and 27.5% in Thailand. However, it had a month-on-month increase of 17.7% in South Korea.
The export volume of Japanese special steel, excluding stainless steel, amounted to around 480,000 tons, which dropped by 11.5% month on month. On the other hand, the amount which included stainless steel totaled approximately 550,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 11.5%. |
