POSCO, the world''s fifth-largest steelmaker by output in South Korea, developed new corrosion-resistant Steel-PosMAC (POSCO Magnesium Aluminum Coated Steel), which was a ternary alloy coated steel (Zn- 3%Mg- 2.5%Al). PosMAC is 5 to 10 times stronger resistance than other existing coated steel sheet, and the price is cheaper than stainless steel.
As one of POSCO''s strategic products, PosMAC is expanding new era. Compared with traditional aluminum product, PosMAC steel plate can reduce production cost by about 6%.
