According to the report, the chief of The Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF) expressed that if the United States (US) levied the tariff rate of 25% on Japanese steel products for a long time, the operation in domestic steel mills would be affected. They stressed that the Japanese government must resolve the issue with the US.
At present, although some US industries still bought the high prices products from Japan, the JISF was still uncertain whether they would purchase products constantly. In fact, the US president Trump rejected the tariff exemption that the Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo requested last Wednesday.
