Japanese stainless steel production increases in 2017-The 19th China(Guangzhou)Int'l Stainless Steel Industry Exhibition

According to the trade statistics, the production of Japanese stainless steel was around 252,000 tons last December, up by 9.3% month on month and down by 2.4% year on year; that of other specialty steel was around 7,500 tons, down by 10% month on month and up by 14.7% year on year.
Among them, the production of chromium-typed stainless steel totaled around 119,000 tons, up by 11.2% from the same period of last month; that of nickel-typed stainless steel totaled around 133,000 tons, up by 7.6% from the same period a month ago.
In 2017, the production of Japanese stainless steel amounted to around 3 million tons, increasing by 2.4% from the same period of last year. Among them, the production of chromium-typed stainless steel was around 1.37 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.7%, and that of nickel-typed stainless steel was around 1.48 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.5%.
